PUBLIC REFUSAL.

I have just had the most incredible moment of inspiration sitting on a couch in California. Although not creative inspiration, (which actually this may involve some creativity), I have decided to take control of my diet because I REFUSE to let Crohn's Disease take over my life. It's going to take a TON of self-control which will have to be taught, but I have the confidence that I will be able to do it. I have far too much to do in my life to waste time being sick.

Foods that are A-OK:
Chicken, Fish, Turkey, Soy, Rice, Corn, Oats, and things made from them, cooked Veggies, Bananas, Honey, Yogurt, Potatoes, and Peanut Butter.

Foods I am altogether AVOIDING:
All wheat products, Milk, Butter, Margarine, Chocolate, Ice Cream, Cheese, anything Deep Fried, Candy, Sugary Cereal, Red Meat, Pork, Nuts, Beans, Lettuce, uncooked Veggies, Popcorn, Carbonation, and Spicy Food.

I am also going to continue drinking more water, and looking into taking some fish oil and vitamin supplements since Crohn's Disease messes up the body's nutrient intake ability. Which maybe you don't even care about! I am just sick of feeling tired and sluggish all of the time. Plus, how awesome would it be to go into remission from simply changing my diet?

Hopefully at this point, if you are a friend or potential date material, I am not scaring you off... Because I do realize it's a little overwhelming. Believe me, I'm a little overwhelmed myself. But it will be a total lifestyle change that I think it will be one that is totally worth it.

Which leads me to my next point which might need to be a PSA and have a flashing sign. My parents were RIGHT. I need to know how to cook after all. I can feel some interesting experiences coming from my attempts... But I think I can only get better from here on out, right??

So here's to good health and an overall sense of better well being. PLEASE wish me luck! I'm going to need all the support I can get.
