I'm back! And at a normal hour too. Wonderful!
The whole 4 am thing just doesn't work.
So begins the Crohn's saga of the summer.
After 3 intestinal obstructions and a week long hospital visit later, things are starting to look up! Well sort of.
Let me explain.
Starting about the 4th of July, I started getting sick, only to discover that my dear intestines had been blocked. We (meaning my mother) scheduled a CT scan and about 6 or so hours later the doctor called with the results. Not only was my intestine swollen shut, I also had an abscess that had to be drained. Lovely right?
I then proceeded to be admitted into the hospital that night for a week where I was given a picc line as a parting gift as well as some TPN and antibiotics. Let's just say I did not leave the hospital empty handed. Now I get to carry around darth vader: the black backpack that carries around my TPN and snores like an old man, as well as an occasional "spaceball," that self-administers antibiotics. I definitely appreciate my free time when I'm not hooked up to anything and get to spend some quality time with JP, my oh-so-cute drain.
Surgery #2 is coming up within the next couple of weeks (hallelujah!) and then I will be all better! WOO HOO! I'm definitely looking forward to two months from now when hopefully I will back to normal. And then get back to getting ready for COLLEGE. Freak. I cannot wait. All this unexpected hubub is not quite what I had planned for this summer. But what can ya do?
Today has definitely gotten better as the day has gone by, but I do not look forward to having to be hooked up to darth and his spaceballs again. Oy. So much for being normal.
Let the two week medical house arrest begin.
Kiss, Wink, buh-bye.
